Daniel Lavoie remarks on his role "The personality of Johnny Brancusi is quite interesting. A Rumanian refugee, well-educated, he has chosen to work in a factory in order to keep life as simple as possible. Drinker, womaniser, he lives in a rooming-house in a poor area of Montréal. (…) I feel more at ease as an actor than I thought was possible, my last experience having been most difficult. I suspect that playing Frollo has allowed me to work more alongside other actors of my profession. An endearing personality, in spite of his weaknesses, Johnny Brancusi pleases me a lot."
