Daniel Lavoie: "La nuit se lève"

1987

A beautiful mouth, a voice, a physical appearance which doesn't leave women indifferent to him, it's several years ago now that Daniel Lavoie was adopted by his French cousins, after arriving from Canada. Writer-composer-performer, he has put album after album into French show-business. Daniel Lavoie's career began in Québec in 1970, but it wasn't until three years later that he released his first short-play record. Daniel Lavoie very quickly became a big star in his country. In France, his first success was singing  "Ils s'aiment" and "Tension Attention", two titles that gained him gold discs. What's new? For Daniel Lavoie it's the release of his album "Vue sur la mer", 10 songs of which "Je voudrais voir New York" and particularly "La nuit se lève" can be found on a short-play record. It's with this song that Daniel Lavoie hopes to get back into the Top 50.

A comeback would be well-deserved because "La nuit se lève" is truly a beautiful song, full of sensitivity, which he performs in a breaking voice in his own special way. A series of concerts at the Olympia from the 15th to the 29th September are of great importance to Lavoie. They promise to be interesting because this man well knows the scene.
