Notre Dame de Paris : Frollo

For three years (1998-1999-2000) Daniel Lavoie played the part of Frollo in French and in English in the musical Notre Dame de Paris by Richard Cocciante and Luc Plamondon. Frollo, the archdeacon of Notre Dame has a secret love for Esmeralda the gypsey girl and he ends up by confessing his love. Frollo had rescued Quasimodo, brought him up, and appointed him bellringer at Notre Dame. His passionate love for Esmeralda obsesses him. He stabs Phoebus, condemns Esmeralda to the gallows because she won’t give herself to him and is killed by Quasimodo who throws him off one of the towers of Notre Dame to the void below. Daniel Lavoie gave more than 500 stage performances in Paris, on tour (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada) and in London.
