“Le fabuleux voyage de l’ange” is a
film by Jean Pierre Lefebvre. Skilfully mixing the real world with a world of
imagination, he manages to create a strange but mesmerising tale. The singer/musician
Daniel Lavoie is Francis, an author of comics, who also moonlights as a
taxi-driver. He has recently been asked for a story by an enigmatic Japanese
editor, however he has totally lost his inspiration: he has to look back on the
events in his own life to write “Le Fabuleux Voyage de l’Ange”, the story
of a young girl (his daughter) who has been kidnapped by an Oriental master (the
editor) who feeds himself on the imagination of his victims. In the meantime,
his own daughter leaves with her uncle and a new friend for an abandoned island,
The screenplay, for its part, is abundant with fascinating ideas. |
