LES FRANCOFOLIES DE MONTRÉAL

Within the setting of the FrancoFolies of Montréal Nana Mouskouri, Daniel Boucher, Corneille, Ariane Moffatt take part in
" La Fête Francophone"
broadcast on television by Radio-Canada, the 30th July at 9.30 pm.

Montréal, 13th July 2004 – Soon after the broadcast of "Swinguez en Ville!" hosted by La Bottine Souriante, this time on the theme of a French speaking Festival, at the end of September numerous artistes of French language song will celebrate together. From 9.30 pm the gathering will be hosted by Daniel Lavoie and broadcast live from the Salle Wilfred Pelletier in the Place des Arts on the sound waves of Télévision du Radio-Canada.

A show with an international flavour

For the occasion, Daniel Lavoie will be the host of composers, writers, musicians and performers come from all comers of the world and from various French speaking countries. Nana Mouskouri, Rachid Taha, Daniel Boucher, Natasha St-Pier, Corneille, Thomas Fersen, Nolwenn Leroy, Diam's, Ariane Moffatt and Stefie Shock will rock, jazz, soul and rap under the direction of Alain Sarrageau.

For the great pleasure of the audience and those watching on TV, the message will be put so that all the artistes share in the musical influences which they use and which feed their talent. The director, Claude Poissant and the producer, Mario Rouleau are keen to further these original and fascinating partnerships. In addition to giving us their respective box-office hits, the guests are ready for anything! And if Nana jazz-ed with Lavoie and Daniel Boucher sang with Thomas Fersen, if Ariane and Diam's did hip-hop together … La Fête Francophone is the meeting of every possibility, a way of singing differently about the solidarity of the artistic vision of all French speaking countries.

The broadcast of La Fête Francophone is a production by Sogestalt Télévision Québec, produced by Guy Latraverse and Alain Simard. Luc Châtelain is the executive producer.
The show La Fête Francophone is broadcast on Télévision Radio-Canada, Friday 30th July at 9.30 pm and will be on the air waves of ARTV later.
